In recent weeks we know that some people have had difficulty opening the service. The service is always an actual video stored in the Christ Church FACEBOOK account. We put a link to that video here on the church’s WEBSITE, which enables you to watch the video while NOT NEEDING to have a Facebook account.
You do NOT need a Facebook account to watch the video.
However, in recent weeks Facebook has changed how it handles the work of publishers, like us, and made it more difficult to manage this process. It has taken us some time to work out how to do this.
We have ALWAYS made it possible to get to the video without needing a Facebook account.
But we know that a few people have been stopped from watching it. Facebook appears to be telling them they need a Facebook account, while at the same time allowing other people whom we know do NOT have a Facebook account, to watch the video unhindered. We are trying to find out why this is, and if anyone knows the answer to this I would be very pleased to hear from you.
In the meantime we will continue as we are, and check it works for non-Facebook users, before we publish it. We are exploring other arrangements but that will take some time to implement.
